MW1V @ KS EdTEch 2019 presentation challenge activities
This yearʻs Kamehameha Schools EdTech Conference theme is "What is your Y?" As a part of the EdThought Strand MW1V, which is about building professional development capacity in Hawaiʻi, will be shared in a presentation by (@MLTSinHawaii) Most Likely To Succeed Hawaiʻiʻs Josh Reppun and Kamehameha Schools Keala`ula Innovation Instituteʻs Evan Beachy. As a part of the presentation the audience will be asked to pair up and choose one of the Challenges below to beta test the Map and the usefulness of the MW1V website. These Challenges are little activities to help you experience some ways that you can use the Map to help your school/classroom transformation efforts. Click on the buttons to explore views of the Network Map that can help provide a course of action. Give one a try!
Challenge 1You are one of five teachers in an academy for arts and media. The group decides the culmination of the class will be a “project runway” experience to which the entire school community will be invited to attend. The event must seek to educate the public around issues of sustainability and waste.

Challenge 2A guiding coalition within your school is empowered to develop, pilot, and implement a integrated sustainability curriculum across all grade 3 classes. The driving question for the educational program is focused on how Hawaiʻi will cope with the impacts of climate change now and in the future.

Challenge 3Homelessness is a huge problem in the City of Honolulu. Your team of teachers from different subject areas wants to create an interdisciplinary unit where students are challenged to find solutions to the major problems impacting/causing homelessness and raise awareness about these issues.
